General Dentistry: Doctors Bart & James Christiansen have served Centennial, Englewood, and Denver for over 30 years. Our family of dentists is here for your family’s dental needs.
It is recommended to have your teeth cleaned at least twice a year.
One of the best things you can do to maintain oral health is consistently receiving thorough dental cleanings. We have wonderful hygienists who take their responsibilities very seriously, and they will effectively and gently clean your teeth. If you need to improve your hygiene, they will not “yell” at you but will show you how to optimize your cleaning techniques.
We have the best Hygienists in the whole world! (at least, we think so). We schedule most patients for routine cleanings twice a year. However, some patients have gingivitis or periodontal disease. We will evaluate your condition and provide a customized treatment plan that will work for you.
We offer crowns and bridges.
In the past several years, dental materials for all-porcelain crowns have greatly improved. This means that the dark grey metal line that shows around older crowns has now been eliminated. Most all porcelain crowns are now as strong as metal and have a life-like appearance. Our patients have been very pleased with their results, and we can show you before and after pictures of cases we have completed.
We work well with children!
We treat the entire family, including your children. We will refer out the most difficult cases, but we find that most kids do very well in our practice (especially if Mom is good!).
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are a blessing and a curse. While many individuals have adapted and do well with their dentures, others never become comfortable and have difficulty functioning with theirs. While we do not have a large patient base with dentures, we will be able to help you evaluate your situation and what options you have for future treatment. We will likely refer the most involved cases to a local specialist. Many new procedures are available that combine implants and dentures to provide better function and comfort.
Healthy Teeth Start with Healthy Gums
Some patients require more than just a traditional cleaning. Often this is due to genetic or systemic conditions beyond the patients’ control. And…some patients just need to brush and floss their teeth better! Regardless of how these patients ended up in this condition, we can help them diagnose and treat their periodontal situation. We do most “deep cleanings” in the office, and if the condition improves, we can help maintain and improve your oral health. If your periodontal disease has progressed to where a specialist would better serve you, we can refer you to a periodontist and work with you and them to optimize your treatment.
The most common restorative dentistry procedure
We place only the highest quality tooth-colored composite fillings. We consistently monitor dental publications and use the highest-rated products throughout our practice.

Family Dentistry
Comprehensive dental services for the whole family
Our Centennial dentists have much experience with kids (and their parents). They can help them get accustomed to the dental environment and any treatment they may need. We will help you determine if you want to provide orthodontic care for your children and, as they get older, evaluate wisdom teeth and make recommendations on whether or not they should be removed.
Many adults are in a maintenance phase of their dental lives and generally do not have a lot of decay. However, while many fillings and crowns can last for decades, nothing lasts forever. We will be able to show you intra-oral photos and x-rays of which teeth have new decay around these older restorations and what needs to be done to restore them to an optimal condition.
While we will recommend that you maintain your teeth to an ideal condition, our goal is not to “sell” you any unnecessary dentistry.
We never want you to feel pressured, but we will provide a treatment plan and let you decide how you would like to proceed.
“My family and I have been going here for 12 years and love it! All the people that work here, from Dr. Bart and Dr. James to the dental hygienists and administrative staff, are amazing. They are so nice and do a great job, and we’ve only had good experiences from cleanings to cavities, crowns, and braces. I can’t recommend them highly enough.”
Consultations & Second Opinions
We are always happy to provide a second opinion.
If you have questions or concerns about your dental health, please call (303-790-9323). We have the latest in digital X-rays and intra-oral cameras. We will be able to show you what and why you may need certain dental procedures. We do not charge for these appointments but consider them an opportunity to visit with you and see if you would be comfortable in our office.
We can provide the options you are seeking for your Centennial cosmetic dentist, including all-porcelain crowns and veneers. We will work closely with you and our lab to give you the smile you have always wanted!
A veneer is when we remove the front outer surface of the tooth and replace it with a life-like porcelain covering. We do this in cases where the patient wants to improve the color and appearance of their teeth. They can be very white (think movie star) or simply natural (my favorite choice).
An esthetic Bonding treatment can dramatically enhance and improve your smile. Actual results from a treatment that took just over an hour to complete. Like most cases, to enhance the smile, this case required no anesthetic.
A lot of attention has been drawn to “laser” or “in-office” whitening. Because these methods are much more expensive and do not have as long of a lasting effect, we choose to make custom trays and provide our patients with proven whitening gels. The truth is that the most effective teeth whitening regimen occurs when the patient wears custom trays with whitening gel in the trays for 30-45 minutes per day over a three or 4-week period.
Orthodontics and Clear Aligners
Doctor Bart started treating orthodontic cases over 20 years ago because so many patients kept asking, “Why don’t you do it?”. He regularly treats routine cases, and if your case is more complicated or if you would prefer a specialist, he can refer you to one of the many excellent orthodontists in the area. We also offer clear Reveal aligners, similar to Invisalign, which can be effective in cases when the patients do not want metal brackets and wires.
Implants have become more mainstream in the past several years and are the treatment of choice in many situations. They can often replace the need for bridges, and our patients have been pleased with having the option to make this choice for their dental needs. Discover the best dental services in Centennial.

One of the most common causes of dental pain is a bacterial infection that has started inside a damaged tooth.
Root canals have a bad reputation, but they shouldn’t! They are extremely effective at eliminating the pain caused by an infected tooth and reducing the associated swelling. The “bad” root canal stories you hear about generally occur when people have waited too long for treatment. The sooner you get this treated, the less painful it will be. At Christiansen Dental, your Centennial CO dentists, we have completed hundreds of successful root canal treatments because we like helping people alleviate their pain!
One of the most common causes of dental pain is a bacterial infection that has started inside a damaged tooth. This usually begins as a deep decay or trauma to the tooth. Many will take over-the-counter medications for this pain to see if it will stop. Still, after more than 4 or 5 days, this medication will not help if the tooth is infected. Endodontic treatment must remove the infection before the pain can be eliminated.
We will apply dental anesthesia and numb the entire area. We offer Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) or oral medication to help with dental anxiety.
We start by using an instrument to access the infected area inside the tooth and clean it using disinfecting liquids and rotary instruments to remove the infection and debris inside the canals of the tooth roots.
After everything is clean and dry, we will seal the tooth's root canals. When this is complete, each root is protected against future bacterial infection, and the tooth and the tissue around the tooth will heal.
Most say it wasn’t worse than a large filling or crown appointment. You will feel much better after the treatment!
“I’ve been going to Christiansen Dental for many years now. It’s hard to find a good dentist who also has exceptional staff. The entire team at Christiansen Dental is fantastic.”

Are there Alternatives to Root Canal Treatment?
Yes, you can remove the tooth. You can never eliminate all the pain without removing the infection inside the tooth. Antibiotics may give a brief (10 to 15 days) period of relief, but you can’t take antibiotics that often.
Of course, removing the tooth has complications because the teeth next to the removed tooth tend to shift, leading to difficulty chewing.
Successful endodontic treatment can save your natural tooth for many years. Teeth in the back that have a root canal need a crown placed on them to give them strength, but teeth in the front often need only a simple filling to restore them to function.
We do the most necessary oral surgery in our office.
Oral Surgery & Extractions Centennial, CO
We do most of the necessary oral surgery in our office. We have found that most patients prefer us to perform their treatment rather than send them to another office. If you have complicated medical conditions or medications, we may refer you to one of the many competent local oral surgeons.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Our Centennial dentists have removed a lot of wisdom teeth. We can discuss your situation with you and, in most cases, perform the surgery if you would like us to. If your case is more complicated or if you would prefer a specialist, we will refer you to one of the many excellent oral surgeons in the area.
“I have been going to Christiansen Dental since 2010. They truly set the bar for all dentists in the area. Everyone on the staff is so welcoming and truly invested in your experience. The service they provide is of the highest level using the latest equipment. Bart and James are just phenomenal. And all the ladies that work there, well, there just aren’t enough words of praise that I can say about them. Who knew going to the dentist could be so fun and amazing? But if you go here, you will get what I mean in this review. They are truly the best in Colorado as far as I am concerned.”
Greg Crowson
TMJ and Jaw Pain
We recognize that many people suffer from some level of chronic pain from either clenching or grinding their teeth. We are very conservative in our approach and have found that the great majority of our patients have responded well to our treatment options.
If you’re unsure what procedure is best for you, we’d be happy to set up an appointment to discuss your options and get you the best possible treatment for your individual needs.
“The Christiansen brothers are fantastic. Your comfort is their number one priority when you’re in the chair. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
